About Normalise Psychology

Normalise Psychology is a private psychology practice currently offering cognitive and neurodevelopmental assessments for primary school-aged children.

Broader therapeutic and assessment services will be introduced over time as the practice develops.

The founder, Chris Lebbe, is a registered psychologist with experience in cognitive, educational, and neurodevelopmental assessment, as well as delivering intervention and counselling across the lifespan. Chris began his working career as a boilermaker/welder before pursuing tertiary education. This background continues to inform a practical, grounded approach to psychological work.

Chris takes a client-centred approach, grounded in the understanding that emotional and behavioural difficulties are often understandable responses to life experience, innate temperament, learning, and context. The therapeutic process focuses on making sense of what’s happening, how current patterns have developed, and identifying what might support more effective ways of responding, building on existing strengths and capacities.

Support is offered in a way that is respectful, practical, and realistic — welcoming people as they are, while creating space for reflection, learning, and growth.

Approach

Work at Normalise Psychology is grounded in evidence-based practice and adapted to the individual.

Assessment work is collaborative, with a focus on understanding patterns, identifying strengths, and providing practical recommendations that can be applied in everyday environments such as home and school.

As the practice develops, this same approach will extend to therapeutic work with individuals and families.

Cognitive & Neurodevelopmental Assessments

Cognitive and neurodevelopmental assessments are offered with a focus on clarity, care, and practical usefulness. Assessment work is collaborative and discussed clearly prior to commencement, including scope, time requirements, and fees.

Assessments are designed to help make sense of cognitive, learning, attentional, emotional, or developmental profiles, with attention to both strengths and areas of difficulty. Findings are considered within the context of a person’s history, environment, and daily functioning, and are communicated clearly to support understanding and informed decision-making.

Practice Values

Normalise Psychology aims to provide a space that is:

  • Welcoming, accepting and respectful.

  • Grounded in evidence and ethical practice.

  • Attentive to context, development, and lived experience.

  • Focused on skill and capacity-building.

The practice recognises that growth often involves adjustment, trial and error, and learning over time. Therapy and assessment are approached as collaborative processes, with clear boundaries, informed consent, and mutual respect.
